Bunionette

Are you someone who suffers with a bunionette? Not Sure?

A bunionette can also be referred to as a corn, or pressure on the top of the little toe. This pressure often displaces the little toe, forcing it upwards. The cause of this very common foot complaint is that of ill fitting footwear. We often try to make our feet fit into the shoes we like, rather than buying shoes that fit our feet.
If the foot is at all curved with high arches, points of friction develop over the knuckle of the little toe and the skin gets thicker and thicker. This area of thickened skin is the bunionette or corn.

Some remedies include:

  • Stretching the shoes to stop the friction.
  • Fit orthoses to correct foot posture.
  • See your Podiatrist to remove the hard skin.
  • See your chemist for a cream to help relieve the condition.
  • Don’t wear footwear with joints over the bunionette.
  • See your health expert.

Don’t make your feet fit the shoes -
Consider custom-made footwear so your footwear will fit your feet.
