Training the Trainer

Chronic musculoskeletal pain is affecting 25 - 30% of Australia’s population costing the health industry $10 Billion a year and this is on the increase. The first step in the treatment and relief of this type of chronic pain is assessment  'from the feet up' by  practitioners with knowledge of musculoskeletal anatomy, including podiatrists and specialised fitters of orthoses and medical grade footwear.

Not only do these and other allied health professionals assess sufferers of chronic pain in an effort to diagnose the problem, but they educate sufferers on remedies available to them, and supervise treatment where required.

Musculoskeletal problems such as back pain, knee and hip pain, sore feet, tired aching legs, hammer toes and others, are all able to be treated with the use of orthoses, orthotics and medical grade footwear.

Surveys conducted by the International Foot and Shoe clinic in Tasmania indicate that 97% of those presenting themselves for an assessment and treatment of musculoskeletal problems are freed of their complaint.

Training is also available at the clinic for those health professionals wishing to be trained in the art of fitting orthoses and medical grade footwear for the relief of musculoskeletal problem.
