Mass Production footwear

General footwear is not shaped to fit individual foot shapes and the result is incorrect posture. Poor posture affects our body from the feet up.

Every one of us has a unique foot structure.  Some people have big feet some small, some long and thin, others wider or thick, each of us have a unique arch shape which general footwear doesn’t always match.

Here is how you can perform a simple assessment of your feet and your footwear:

  • With your shoes on, slip your fingers under your arch, try to feel how much room you have between your arches and the shoes you are wearing.

  • Now put a bit of weight on your feet and feel how much the arch drops down.  That space between your arch and the shape of your shoes is what needs to be maintained.

This empty space can be fitted with proper orthoses or orthotics, or you can do it yourself.  Choose chux cloth, paper, tissue, or foam . . . . Shape it as much as possible to fit under you arches and put it inside your shoes. Wear your shoes and walk, and experience the temporary relief.

While mass production footwear is made for fashion and price, very few are manufactured for health.
