Inherited arches

Every one of us have physical traits which to our joy or disappointment are inherited. The shape of our feet is no exception. The arch of the foot, (the area between the heel and the ball on the underside of the foot) can be categorised as one of 4 types.

Either flat meaning no arch, medium, high or very high. Of 1800 people surveyed, 12% had flat arches, 22% - medium, 38% a high arch, and 28% had a very high arch.

Unfortunately general footwear is often made very flat, providing little or no support to the arch. Arch support is the foundation of correct posture. An absence of arch support causes aches and pains from the feet up.

For good support

  • Purchase shoes that have strong arch support.

  • Wear Medical grade footwear.

  • Obtain semi-ridged orthoses fitted to your feet and footwear

Why not march with the right support
