Corns & Calluses

Corns and calluses are superficial conditions that could easily be described as hard skin on the feet, and can be quite uncomfortable.

Corns develop on the top of the feet and are the product of friction and rubbing of one area such as the knuckles of the toes on the upper footwear.

The longer the condition is left untreated the thicker the skin gets and the more tender and sore it becomes.

Calluses that appear under the feet are the result of unsupportive footwear.

The main area where calluses form are under the metatarsal joints, toes and heels.

Both calluses and corns require professional attention.

  • See a podiatrist who will remove the surplus hard skin

  • See a medical grade footwear practitioner.

  • Orthoses fitted to your shoes and feet is often the most effective cure to support, align, prevent, correct and improve the function of movable parts.

  • Use DU’IT cream to soften the hard skin.
