Pronated Ankles

What does the term pronated ankle mean?
A pronated ankle is one, which has weakened and  fallen inward and is no longer in alignment with the rest of the foot and lower leg reducing mobility.
When in the sitting position, and not under pressure, the foot and ankle shape appear normal. When standing pressure is applied the weakened ankle falls inward, the arch is flattened and the shape of the feet changes. In some cases bunions develop.

Paul’s discomfort:
“When I had my feet checked, I had flat feet, fallen arches and sore ankles. I had orthoses made to fit into my shoes to support my arches and now I have no foot discomfort, or sore ankles, and my posture is more balanced. I’m free to walk and jog and I feel so much fitter, healthier and happier.”

The solution is not only simple, it’s right under your feet!

  • An assessment of the feet, including footwear generally worn, is needed.

  • The most effective treatment is custom made medical grade footwear, or Orthoses fitted to general footwear

  • Some alternation to shoes, boots, sandals, slippers, can also help.

Look after your ankles,
Practical treatment is safe and effective
